LoveRemembered
|
Like wilted roses, struggling to breathe,
A helpless vessel lost on a rolling sea,
Winds of destruction raging violently,
You leave and you take the breath out of me.
Like a broken record that plays on and on,
Those cherished words of the saddest song,
About the heart that loved, even though it was wrong,
When darkness falls I lay here singing along.
Like the warm sun rising in the pale blue sky,
A broken winged bird slowly relearning to fly,
A child whose kisses spring fresh tears to dry eyes,
Quietly I love you, and earthly rules don’t apply.

I think I understand how the title fits the poem, it seems like you're talking about loving someone you can't have, or at least by 'earthly rules' shouldn't have.
You have so many great metaphors in this poem, every line is a new idea, but yet they all fit together so perfectly.
I also like how each stanza seems to carry a different mood, almost like you're telling a story with your words, and things are changing.
Awesome poem.
