Through the frosted glass, my eyes peer
But missteps can not be retraced,
No room behind this opaque veneer
But for you, in my heart, there's a space
Sacred vows that we made; disappeared
Perhaps they were carelessly misplaced
The past and our future are both unclear
Like the first and the last pages erased
In a distant dream, you become near
You raise my veil of black lace
Behind my eyes, you find my tears
And through them, I see your face.

Now this is what The Veil needed. Very well done. I like the language, and the rhyming. Good work.
