Valentine’s Day
What a laugh!
I know what I want to say
But the line, I’ll have passed
I want to say I love you,
I know it’s unaccepted
Opportunity has been too few
And now, I’m rejected
Card and flowers, I’ve received
But I know it’s a lie
The office help’s deceived
I just want to cry
I want to be wanted
It’s too much to suggest?
I’ve been discarded
Emotion’s too high a request
I love you for your virtue
And your point of view
You are far from shallow
I know of your value
Why is it that you search for more?
When in truth, it’s really less
What is it the heart is for,
If not love, to profess?
Knowing in my heart it’s wrong
Watching the rabbit run
I’m still here, where I belong
Watching the setting sun
