Memories

Contributed by dawny on Monday, 14th February 2005 @ 03:46:46 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Sadness is all around me
Everywhere I go
All I see are memories
Scenes from long ago

Memories are gone for her
But linger on for me
Her life was filled with endless pain
But now her spirit's free

The hardest thing is letting go
The memories still seem real
But deep inside I know she’s gone
And emptiness I feel

She had her hopes and dreams destroyed
In a single brutal blow
I only hope she rests in peace
But sadness still I know

For Debbie, who I will miss always.
Rest in peace my friend

Love Dawn
xxx

I'm deeply sorry for your loss. This is a very fitting tribute you have created for her. I bet she's looking down on you and smiling. My prayers are with you.

Yes, quite a tribute. I can't imagine your pain.
One grammar thing in the last line of the second stanza, you want to use an apostrophe on spirit's to make it
"spirit is free."
Nice stuff. Deeply felt.
Stitch

Hi Dawny,

This is an extrememly sad and tragic poem. I know you're still hurting but I'm sure she's looking down on you and thanking you for looking after her daughter, and proud to see you marrying marky in August. I'm here if you need to chat mate,

Love Ali xxxx

It is only me leaving a second comment. You are right you know. The hardest part is letting go. If I could only figure out how to do that.

I seem to cry every time I read your poetry!

Who now must really hurry to get to work!
