Love Lost, Can it be Renewed?

What we shared was nothing short of perfect,
you'll always mean the world to me.
Sometimes I sit back and reflect,
and think about what we could still be.
I would take back everything in a heart beat,
do it all over again in the blink of an eye.
These last few years my lifes been incomplete,
and not having you is the reason why.
There's no telling where we would be today,
but deep down I know we would've been fine.
I'll never forget that terrible day,
that day you were no longer mine.
Why I allowed this to happen I'll never really know,
but it did and I've never felt so much pain.
It doesn't really seem like that long ago,
why that is I can't explain.
I remember being with you like it was yesterday,
and that was as good as it gets.
I can't believe I let you get away,
you're the source of so many regrets.
You say you have this feeling that we're going to reunite,
and what if this were to be true?
With you in my life it's more then alright,
I've never been happier then when I was with you.

But my lost love came back into my life messed with my mind for a few years ,
then left me with a broken heart the second time.
