It's all me

Contributed by starfire on Sunday, 13th February 2005 @ 09:46:23 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Don't turn around, don't look back
keep on moving on
fondest memories, no regrets
now that all of it is gone

You'll never rid yourself of me
it shall never trully end
in your heart you'll take me with you
when you learn to love again

Don't mistake nievety for stupidness
don't think I didn't see it in your face
that I would never measure up for you
I knew I"d have to be replaced

It's killing me inside, I'm dying
it hurts me, I won't lie
but when it comes to being faced by you
you'll never see me cry

I'll dwell on the past, and ponder on why
it took so long for you to put it to an end
we grew up together, could've had so much more
you were my love and my best friend

From childhood and parenting
through each and every endeavor
I came to realize slowly
we could never have forever

No hard feelings, it's OK...
remember when you told me
everything I've ever done was wrong?
now I'll have the chance to fix myself
(I'll do it too, you'll see
I'll prove to me
I'm strong)

So don't turn around, don't look back
Keep on moving on
fondest memories, no regrets
now that all of it is gone

Best to move on, but doing so can be difficult. A good write, and I hope you find better down the road.

I enjoyed reading your poem,it mirrors life,
all who have known the joy of love ,also know its sorrow.
sojourner,
