A Dog Named Dale

A Dog Named Dale

A dog named Dale
with a curly “q” tail
Decided one day
to learn, to sail

So Dale set off
when the next sun rose
With his breeches on
and a patch - on his nose!

Down he went, toward the
busy seaport
Accompanied by Tom, the
cat, just for sport

They rented a boat
with a tattered sail
A crack in a board
and a rusted nail

They sailed all day
Eating honey and butter
And into the night
with Tom at the rutter

With morning near
and land in sight
The mighty sailors
Filled with delight

Their voyage over
The lessons complete
They docked their boat
and danced down the street.

Carol and Dian
