Forgotten Memories

Contributed by mbs on Sunday, 13th February 2005 @ 05:19:18 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Once again, the ominous riptide of yesterday,
Invades my mind -
I'e seen it before...
Wishing I'd see it no more..
On a road to nowhere,
Running for my life...
Twists and turns leading further into the blackness
Eatng at my emotions..
Devouring my soul...
What was once, but a mere wound,
Now, bears a gaping hole...

And I'm gripped by terror!

What could be so horrific, that my mind's chosen to forget?
Secrets' kept unavailable to me.
It's something I'm not able to deal with, quite yet...

Will I ever gain the strength to meet this fear head on?
Would I find I'm much stronger, than I ever thought?
And, that just maybe -
There's a rainbow that's been waiting for me..

At the finish-line, I find it hard to believe,
I've made it here.
Life is an uphill battle ,in which victory is seldom achieved...

Slowly my reality unveils, this hidden agenda,
I shrink back into my corner within...
"Do not disturb" -
Is written all over my face,
And my patience is wearing thin...

I realize the rainbow is just an object of my desire,
I face this downward path that's, bearing a sign -
"Enter at your own risk!"
I must never forget the lessons, or even once, let down my guard...
Found it out the hard way -
The road coming back, is long and hard...

Hmmm...I love how this seems hopeful..
There are some great images in here too.

"Do not disturb" -
Is written all over my face,
And my patience is wearing thin...

Great write,
*hugs* Phil xxx

Oh, AMEN! I have been there, and I know exactly what you mean. May you always know the strength to resist the road of temptation!

Good opener, and the sudden outburst about terror...loved it. Glad I ran into this one.

And I hope the writer has found solace in the struggle's resolution.

Thank you
