A Simple Good-Bye

As you stared into my eyes,
I could see your thoughts begin,
As I stared into your eyes,
It flashed once again.

The warmth in your face,
The love in your eyes,
I should have taken a stand,
But I couldn't put up a fight.

Could you see into my mind,
As I could into yours,
Please tell me you could find,
The love that we had shared.

I really should've stopped it,
Before it even began,
I didn't want my heart broken,
Never, Ever again.

The stars, the moonlight,
It all came into view,
There went my heart,
Stolen by you.

Just being near to you,
And being able to smell your hair.
It always happens to me,
It's all so hard to bear.

You kissed me one last time,
Before I walked away.
The hardest thing I've ever done...
Walking away that day.

As we met up again,
Some twenty years later,
My heart was ripped once more,
Eaten by a gator?

Now even the time is past,
To tell you good-bye,
You died a day ago,
And all they did was sigh.

I guess they have to harden their hearts,
They probably see it every day,
But I wanted to take this one last chance,
To tell you a simple good-bye...

wow i like it it sets ff a lot of emotions inside of me
