temptress of the bronze statues

Contributed by dantoad on Wednesday, 11th December 2002 @ 11:20:00 PM in AEST
Topic: mystical

she sways her hips to the drums
pitter patter go her delicately placed feet
the bracelts on her arm jingle
as she paints the illusion of love

her arms wrap around her sides, as she teases
and her dark eyes beckon you to follow
into her deep sultry secrets
expressing her beauty, showing her worth
they all want her and are jealous of each others eyes
seeing their prize, they want her
possession, such a dark word

she traces her curves and shows them who she is by her movements
they want to know every inch of her
but she still hides, saving it for the perfect one
her body transforms

now she swings, as her pulse races, she dances next to the metal trees
around and around for the dirty green
still painting a delicate and beautiful portrait.

she whispers sweet things in your ears
and you dream
dream of the temptress

her skin like the sun, her hair like sand,
the waters await you
swimming like mermaids she calls like the sirens
and fishermen leap to be her man

no one is alike her and no one can forget her
and she has you locked in her heart
don't ever turn your back on her, or hang up the phone.

she is a descendent of the ones of the bronze statues,
never forget who you'll be
they chant as they fade in the jungle sun

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
