The Wait

Grief

Sitting home by the phone
Waiting for the one call
Waiting for the moment
that changes your life
Under the lamp
a fly that bleeds
The light goes dim
Your head lay to rest
On the pillow of stitches
On the pillow of nails
Your dreams come through
Like a voice that fails
Still sitting you lay awake
You still keep dreaming
You stop and exhale
The thoughts corode themselves
as you bleed
through a sheet of white
No ring is there
It must of missed you
You remembered him
But I guess he forgets you
