The window
out of which I look,
sees the entire world
but my fear keeps me locked inside.
The door
opens wide,
letting in the cool air,
too cold for my skin to bare.
The stairs
leading up to my room,
a place where sleep
is the sibling of Death.
My bed,
the cold place where I lie,
mummified in sheets.
Pull them up high,
over my head
and make the sun go away.

This is really great. It's short, but so descriptive and deep. Excellent job. |
