I WISH I WERE A POET
I wish that I could write a poem
One that would last for ages
Not just a little short poem
But one that goes for pages.
A poem that folks would talk about
In classrooms and might go
In volumes of great literature
With Longfellow, Keats and Poe.

This is really good. I also have that wish...but you truly are a wonderful poet that's destined for greatness. :-) |

I think you hit a nerve here...lol All of us poets have the same dream. As for long, my friends say they want to read poems... Not epics! (Oh, well...lol) Great Poem.

lol... well, call me impatient, I guess. See... rather than wait for someone to put me in a volume with great poets --- I put myself on the page with them. I write of them and include a bit of myself to feel as if I'm there with them. ok... so it's a bit selfish, but hey - it works.
But yeh... I, too, understand this.
From Somewhere Below The Surface, along side Sexton, Plath and Parker *wink*-
