The transformation

Transform the snails dragging image
into a work of art,
a story that describes the journey
one takes when overcome with an impulse
to fly off to distant islands that all breathe
words,
symbols of wisdom which resonate
in the bottom of your toes
standing on earth tones that answer back
like a lion's pulse.
Let this transformation be true, but
let it shift into ugly colors,
cum stained bed sheets,
small explosions,
empty bottles of budweiser.
Let it speak of what is left at the bottom of your shoe,
a lie you've never told
which shrieks and stumbles off into
nobody's ear
and drives them mad with
subconcious reef's and thimbles,
a prick within the ear drum
which draws their attention inward.
And finally on your last day
you will also transform with the Earth,
reborn into the limitless body of time
and death
which leaves the lasting impression of
eternity's tale,
the same story that is lived
and breathed by every individual who clasps their
hands together in the cold,
and who stir the fir before it dies,
trying to keep warm.

Just so everyone knows, the word "fir" in the second to last line is actually "fire"----I'm sure that most people can figure that out, but I thought I'd just mention it in case there is any confusion.

Ah, my dearest Zenmind... Congratz on your completion of three journals of breath-taking masterpieces... and the beginning of another! So happy for you! And what a beautiful first chapter!! LOVE IT! Well, I love all your poetry. ;) Your words never fail to captivate and enchant, evoking thoughts of lucid dreams, and surreal paintings, lol. Thanks so much for sharing this with us, Zenmind. Always a pleasure in reading your work!! All my love! Forever,
Your friend,
Stephy. |

Take this as a huge compliment but alot of your poem here reminded me of some of Afterdark's poem's..In perhaps the general way he uses metaphors and his flow is very abstract..This was very cool... |
