The Struggle

Contributed by ToriVeigh on Friday, 11th February 2005 @ 08:34:34 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

My heart tears asunder
Imagining what you do
When you’re with another
My pain starts anew

I know that you still care
To that, I’m not blind
Of me, you’re still aware
And I keep that in mind

Now I must be careful
To not manipulate
I must be ever mindful
My pain, to not relate

The struggle is forever there
Between my heart and mind
For you, I’ll always care
What you want is the bind

There are some things
That I cannot change
The number of the clocks ring
I have no power to arrange

What you want
I can supply
But the amount,
I must deny

I wish I were your desire
For you and I, I’ve fought
My lack of time is mire
By circumstance, I’m caught

As much as I want you near
It must be your decision
My feelings for you are clear
But your joy, is my mission

I’d rather you be at peace
Than miserable with me
For me, there’s no release
It’s with you I wish to be

With whom or where you’ve been
I have no right to ask
Innocence or sin
I am just your past
