Fool With A Hundred Faces

selfstruggles

Thievery smiles; oh she's proud of your sins
Faithless seraphs bow in mockery's mirth:
"Hail all thee, the fool with a hundred faces."
Breathe deep, the sun is setting now for good
Don't think escapism will redeem you;
Thievery smiles; oh she knows you won't win.
Mistakes shine off your hands in glaring red
Wilted now, stems of what you can't undo:
"Hail all thee, the fool with a hundred faces."
You dreamt that all had bloomed to life again
Until their barren eyes struck to remind
That once you burn, your ashes can't be saved.
Living is loving and loving is death
You're an accidental wreckage long scorned;
Thievery smiles; oh her conquest is done.
Enter now, dreams in which I'll follow Death
As far away from causing harm, I'll run!
Away from voices that echo my shame:
"Hail all thee, the fool with a hundred faces."

To me this is a mystery. I'm very curious of the 'point'.
"Hail all thee, the fool with a hundred faces."
The concept of this is intriguing..I can
interpret this piece in different ways..in my
opinion, that's a trait of a good piece of
writing. The way you set out your words is
very creative. You have a talent. |

Very thought provoking write.
we all make bad choices in life but the beauty of it all is that each new day brings a brand new chance.

Dear AV,
just brilliant. I read this one some time ago and can't believe I didn't comment. Raw, beautiful, despairing, with the pained cynicism born of aching loss. But what progeny!
bravo,

"His mercies are new every morning."
...He took your sin apon His cross
and if you will but count it lost
He has gladly paid the cost
He can carefully burn away the dross
and as you die you too shall live!
as He can, yourself truly forgive
resting in Eternal Light of Love
and life and peace and fervent joy thereof...
~excerpt from "the temptress"
true love is when you die to yourself to live for someone else. |
