cold dark floor

Contributed by unforgiven on Friday, 11th February 2005 @ 06:00:19 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

How could this have happened?
For once my life was normal,
I was happy in myself,
Then you had to go,
Destroy it all and break me down.

Knew this day was impending,
Slowly creeping up on me.
It all crashed down that night,
Now I don't feel like living,
Don't deserve the air I breathe.

She found us huddled together,
Never forget her screams of rage.
You didn't stay with me though,
Knew I had lost you then,
You ran after her and left me there.

I tried to block out the angry voices,
Sat in the corner and cried.
Thinking about the friend I'd lost,
The people I had hurt,
Didn't ever want to leave this room.

Then he came into my life,
For the briefest of moments I was alive.
He left me alone on the cold floor,
While I watched him walk away,
Arm outstretched for him to stay.

You once cared for me,
Stopped me from cutting myself.
You didn't know it was my way to heal,
Now I feel empty and confused.
Yearning for the razor and the pain.

Through these people I meet,
I hurt myself on the inside.
I know you can't see these scars,
Can't stop me from this self destruction.
But this pain I put you through,
Was one scar I didn't want to bear.
