Shades Of Darkness

Darkness licks at my being
It’s breath icy on my neck.
It’s fingers scraping my sides,
Grasping for my soul.
It’s eyes hollow and empty,
Intimidating in every aspect,
Yet welcomed in another.
Terror turns to apprehension
As repetition serves for security.
Because pain in great numbers
Numbs after so long.
And though deceitful,
The Darkness is acknowledged
As the Black Hole of my life,
Enveloping everything within sight.
And at first, this progression,
Weightless it may seem,
But upon nearing the core
Tidal forces dominate
Pulling at my seams,
Stretching what little is left,
Taunting my every breath
With it’s silent laughter;
A reminder of what’s yet to come,
And what will never be.

Another dark one from you.
Some kind of emptiness you feel?
There's alot of doubt in this.
I have not written anything too dark
in a long time,
maybe there's hope.
But then again...
