Deep in the forest where the fairies dwell there is a special place
Guarded by dragons and mythical beasts never seen by a human face
Here is where the fires of love are kept safely by lock and key
No one has seen this sight not even the story teller me
This is an amzing place protected deep within the earth
A fire that burns a crimson red does glow within the hearth
Here Cupid comes to make his arrows what they are
And he will go and spread the love near and far
Next to this pyre does sit another hearth of gold
A blue fire of forgiveness it does hold
When lovers have a spat as usually is the case
Cupid dips his arrows here and hurries on with haste
So you see the work out we give dear Cupid
For when we fight and won't make up He thinks we're rather stupid
He has to go and dip his arrow in the blue fire dear
And then shoot us so we make up with words oh so sincere
Save Cupid a trip and try to forgive without the arrows bite
For tis better to forgive and forget than go on with the fight
Someday I would like to see this place that holds you dear to me
But since I am allergic to dragons I think I'll just let it be

Imaginative and thoughtful. I love this. Almost feels like it needs a picture, because it's such an illustrative type of poem. Lovely! |
