Valentine Bouquet

Tears fall on my pillow
And I wipe them all away
I heard that you sent a dozen roses
As your Valentine bouquet
But, you see, the ironic thing
Is that they were sent to her
My tears fills up the vase that holds them
This feeling is the worst
She smiles with delight
Taking in the strong scent
Bright red beautiful roses
Will keep her content
One by one, as days go by
They slowly wilt away
My tears wasted in her vase
Where the roses decay
I wish I could just take one rose
And peel it, petal by petal
One for you, one for me
One for our unknown battle
I’d nail them to the floor
Pouding away happily
Then I’d step all over them
Like you stepped all over me
To you it was just some money spent
To see how happy it made her
To me it was my whole life broken
Remembering what we once were
