The Bird

He flew into my life one day
to perch among my heart.
Quickly I was enticed by him
from the very start.
Wings of gold, with eyes so bright
his movement filled with grace.
Oh, how I want to kiss his lips
and stroke his heavenly face.
A bird he is, a creature of god
to beautiful for my eyes.
He holds a charm that's mesmerizing
and takes me by surprise.
He flew into my life one day
now I want him to stay.
He flew into the depths of my soul
and stole my breath away.
