A Pound of Flesh (16 Ounces of Revenge)

Contributed by Xnoybis on Thursday, 10th February 2005 @ 03:35:39 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

He was a thief
And had stolen his last
He was found in an alley
Killed by his past

She often acted
On heart and whim
She had killed herself
Just to spite him

He held a knife
To the throat of a man
Who double crossed him
On some scheming plan

The mirror kept staring
He couldn't take it
After two weeks
He had to break it

He hung the man
From an old oak tree
He then left him there
To swing aimlessly

They had robbed him
He tracked them down
It became legend
In some tiny town

He gunned down a wiseguy
On some busy street
He's in the East Bay now
With shoes of concrete

She killed the man
Or so I've been told
Because he had hocked
Her ring made of gold

They found the body
In the trunk of its car
It was missing a piece
But the head wasn't far

He had been shot
In the back of the head
Thrown in a ditch
And left there for dead

She had buried him
In their own backyard
He had been cheating
And left her a card

He had been drowned
In the bathroom tub
Too much gallivanting
In the local pub

Stabbed over a card game
He bled to Death
Called his killer a cheater
With his dying breath

She divorced him
Because he was boring
Had bad breath
And a habit of snoring

He had shot the man
For taking his wife
And finished the job
With a dull kitchen knife

She was a model
Her boyfriend insane
He had disfigured her
Because she was vain

It's very interesting....
the title caught my attention, but when I saw how long it was I didn't feel like reading it, but I was unable to pull myself from it... and afterwards found myself hungering for more... very interesting poem...
