Nothing Special

Hair dyed a dull red
With a body,
but not a body to die for.
Deeper blue eyes,
but just a little too intense.
Silly personality,
but nothing that sets her from the rest.
Yeah, she's got class,
but with just a prick, her class shatters like glass.
Breasts too small,
hips too wide,
Forever she could list the imperfections.
Rather than outgoing,
to her box she confides.
She's nothing special,
but she wants to be seen.
She wants to be looked at,
Observed, desired, witnessed,
Required.
She knows she cant be perfect,
But she's determined to try.
So, her hair she'll dye
and flashy cloths she'll wear,
fake a personality,
But there's no personality there.
Her imperfections stand tall,
And there's nothing she can do about it,
but watch herself fall.

I like your poem. The ending is good too. You paint a very clear picture of her....really good poem. |
