The unicorns weep softly for the sins of man.
The wind howls in its sorrow.
For the fish lay dead in the river,
And butterflies fear tomorrow.
The deer runs deep in the forest
To avoid the passing cars.
The bear, not so lucky,
Is behind the circus bars.
The unicorns weep softly for the sins of man.
This is all they can do.
Because between goodness and evil,
It was man's right to choose.
Far around, destruction is seen,
The beaver is without home.
The trees have been made into paper,
And the rabbits are forced to roam.
The unicorns weep softly for the sins of man.
How sad they are today.
For man they once cherished and loved
Far from goodness stray.

indeed, if animals had a concept of the devil, in what other way would they imagine him but the likeness of a man? |

It sounds like not all of us strayed far. I have a poem sort of like this, Magickal Creatures. This is a good write my friend, and a sentiment shared.
