Sadness

Unaware of the path that I should follow
Down in doubt I wallow
Need I fear what will become my share
Or be it fear itself and its burden of pain,
put on these shoulders for me to carry.
This cross I'll bring upon myself to bare.
The gleam in my eyes, for when and where has it gone.
Pools of darkness telling nothing but sorrow
If I could only grasp to control and make the story unfold,
I would find what this life is to hold.
After all,
My life, overshadowed by the gloom of these thoughts,
has already been sacrificed,
to a truth so restlessly sought.
