Wall of Ignorance
Your friends surround you talking, socializing. Invisible barriers were placed by hands. You own hands, your work of art. Ignorance now separates you and your friends. The love you feel is as fake as pyrite. Solid walls of opaque black tourmaline stand in the way. Your brain taken hostage by yourself. You seem invisible to all others, an atom passing by silently. Searing hollowness is engraved in your dire heart. Hatred takes your feelings, binds them, mixes into a mixture. A mixture of everything wrong, one that you keep sipping. One so addicting anyone would suicide to get more. You’re furious that you keep sipping, you’re angry that you can’t take gulps. This world prevails as solid as an iron fortification. Covering all as a blanket of despair on this Earth. Shadowing all in your mind. Memories from the past embedded into the present and viewed as hieroglyphs. All etched into the wall, the wall of ignorance. Reminiscences haunt you as a phantom following you, trapping you, killing you. Painfully, slowly, silently. Once there, the wall of ignorance never leaves. Never lets go, never lets sunshine in. The wall of ignorance.

Might be rough, yet still holds true depth and flow, excellent poem. |
