Sitting in a room,
Sitting in a chair,
All alone.
Cooped up,
A small room,
Just one.
All alone,
The curtains drawn,
The darkness envelopes her.
Music blasting in her ears.
She feels the tears roll down her cheeks.
Sorrow leave salty trails on her skin.
In the mirror,
A tear-stained face,
Mouth turned down,
A mournful frown.
She feels so alone.
Like no one loves her.
She sees everyone else,
Walking in pairs,
Down the hall,
Down the street,
And here she is.
Watching from a window,
Only two eyes staring,
At the rest of society.
They hold hands,
As they pass through her vision,
She just feels more alone.
She rocks back and forth,
Kept in her cell,
Left on the floor.
Broken and hurting,
Discarded by love,
She though that she had.
She is one,
A mind too shy,
A will too battered.
A soul abused
Without the confidence
To start anew.
