What Is It To You

Contributed by UnlovedChild on Monday, 7th February 2005 @ 02:16:04 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Why are you so jealous
Of someone under you
You have way more things than her
But still you have to try to be better

Is it some kind of competition to you
Because you are the only one competing
You have a lot more money
But she takes care of her kids

So stop asking me questions
About her life
You let your wife call me a liar
When I am telling the truth

Who cares what she does
Where she goes and what she buys
You always accuse me of protecting her
When there is nothing to protect

I told you I hate your questions
That there is no need for you to know
But you yelled you deserved an answer
Why do you have to be so mean

You know how you make me feel
But you don't seem to care
I wish that you would leave me alone
And I never would have to go there

So as I leave these thoughts behind
I move on to the next day
Because I know what tomorrow holds
And it brings a smile to my face

it sounds like a parent is trying to interrogate you about another. that doesn't sound fun. This poem expresses that frustration well. I am glad to see a bit of hope at the end.
