Blood's Price

Blood's Price
Darkness destroying my life
With colors black and gray
Embellished with blood's price
In a life of disarray.
Committing the death
Of mind and soul
With emptiness left
To leave me whole.
Walking on broken legs
With no state of mind.
Onward I walk this plague.
Life of no kind.
The glass is half filled
With blood that's intoxicated,
And the bottle of pills
Has my eyes fixated
On what I'll never again have,
A moment to be sad
About my fallen comrades.
Taking my life as you look away.
I took their life, but I take mine today.
The tree of liberty
Is replenished with what we bleed
For the free.

Full on vivid and sad poem, but excellently written. |
