Daddy dearest,
Why can't I make you PROUD?
How can I show you my worth?
Why do you yell so loud?
Daddy dearest,
I'm sorry you can't see ME...
The inner soul who wants nothing
except to see you happy.
Daddy dearest,
What about my goals in LIFE?
The good I've done along the way...
Am I such trouble and strife?
Daddy dearest,
I know you don't really CARE,
but I have my own plans, not yours.
You treatment isn't fair.
Daddy dearest,
I'm tired of your hurtful WORDS!
Every cut is the deepest...
But my dreams are not absurd.
Daddy dearest,
I'm through with you beating me DOWN!
As you, wise man, once said to me;
"What goes around, comes around."

i hope your dad reads this someday, too, just remember, never give up your own goals, and if someone won't accept you for who you are, that's their problem, not yours, stay strong and live life to the fullest!
You have talent, I loved this poem, don't ever neglect your gift! Keep writing! |

Wow this was excellent and I mean it in all it's forms. You have a beautiful talent ! Your ending verse couldn't have been any better,it might have been a simple verse, but for it to fit so well into your poem just makes it incredible. As for the message, I only hope one day, YOU will forget what your dad says and go along your own way. I think that's gonna be even harder than changing the way your dad sees you,but once you do succeed in believing and living life in order of what YOU(and only YOU) think, then the consequences will be worth all the hard work.
I wish the best,
PumpkinPie |
