Dying Life

Contributed by lilschizoboy07 on Sunday, 6th February 2005 @ 09:03:10 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

People are dying all around me
and all I hear is the sound of hearses
ringing like church bells
doorways to Heaven or Hell
and I hope it's Heaven
cuz since the age of seven
when my grandpa's death hit me
I've been thinkin
that maybe people ar dyin for a reason
My heart's not yet fully bleedin
cuz I'd alreadry stopped appreciatin
those who had stopped breathin
But someone close is next
I can feel it in my chest
and I can already see my grandma on a bed
In a world where we must remember the past
it's become necessary
to be contemporary
It's kinda scary
to think in the future
my heart will be filled with sutures
from the people I'd lost
Ahead I see loneliness and frost
with no one to heal the pain of my losses
and I know what it'll cost us
as a country
With millions of friends and family dead
conquest will no longe seem so sultry
or will it?
America has a disease
and seems to come from our so-called democracy.
Yet I believe
it comes from our lack of respect and chivalry.
Life is dying.

Your words may be more truthful than we realize. Read mine called Gene and Lucy birdsong. I lost my friend almost two years ago.
