His Promise

Contributed by taurusgem1 on Sunday, 6th February 2005 @ 04:27:28 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Intense fury exhumes your body
Fiery explosion
Lips softly brush your cheek
Time stood still for a moment
Your heart shattered.
A million fragments, tearing your insides
Promises are silently broken as he takes you in his arms.
Night falls; space swallows reality
Laughter is somewhere in the distance.
Far off, utterly alone, the laughter slips further away.
Was that your soul that you sent into the darkness?
Empty chest
Never have you felt chained to the beat of his heart
Thumping echoing in your head
Hallow drums rumbling in a vacant hallway
Love; what is love?
Do you need it or does it need you?
Hatred takes your mind
Quickly tries to devour your heart, lashing out
Difficulty breathing
Suffocated ignorance that has held you for eternity
Changes made
Plans destroyed
Violence swallowed your morality
Devoured; predator takes its prey
Taking you to the hidden place behind your eyes
What will happen next?
Death? Let it die
Nothing wonderful has come from this
Nothing
Just shadows that lie in the wake of your disgust.
Goodbye

The imagery and words are explosive and powerful. Well done.
