Grief
|
My cries are heard out loud,
embraced now is my sorrow.
My head keeps telling me,
I wont live for tomorrow.
The many days I wait,
for god to put me at rest.
My body will keep struggling,
my heart put to the test.
Day by day, night by night,
im hooked up to machines.
My heart my lungs my body,
depends on all of these things.
I am surrounded by love,
from family friends and such.
But I can hear god calling me,
I can feel his touch.
Now I think its time,
although I’ve loved life so.
I reach over pull out the plug,
its time for me to go.

That's a beautiful poem, it flows so nicely. I can never seem to get my poems to rhyme with that effortless touch...
The poem reminded me of when my mother was on life support before she passed away... it brought back some painful memories... Nice job with it. |
