An Ewe and A Lamb
It had been a cold, damp night, on
the hills of Wales an ewe’s lamb had
died. Now, this late morning, it was
clearing up and getting warmer.
Seeing me the ewe came running up
to the fence bleating, nothing I could
do apart from telling how sad I was
for its immense loss.
Meaningless words, but they settled
the ewe that began grazing again.
The hills, were so very lush and
green that day.

Poor little ewe it lost its lamb, well they say that as long as the grass is lush and green, nothing can stop life from going on again.
Sorry for that bit of nonsens, but I liked the poem, never before I had though on how a ewe can handle the grief of losing its lamb, it makes you think a lot...
Good work |

To me this poem says that life goes on, for all its small losses, and tenaciously presents its beauty in the face of sadness and the ugly reality of the death of the newborn.
So sadly and simply stated; I especially liked the concluding lines.
