A Burp in Duress

If you swallow a burp and it goes deep inside,
Could it come out something else or cause you to die?
Where could it be when it has no place to go?
Does it hang in your stomach or travel down to your toe?
Somehow it’s got to find its way out.
Maybe the burp will come out your mouth?
Maybe some steam will come out your ears,
Or maybe your eyes will well up with tears?
Maybe you’ll sneeze and it’ll come through your nose,
Or it’ll explode through the end of your toes?
But I’ll confess-
That a burp in duress,
Will come out as a fart,
At least that’s my guess.

| My first smile of the day. I thank you. When I swallow a burb it tends to hurt quite a bit. But yeah, where else would it go. This was a cute write. |
