I’ve dreamt of you forever
I put your picture on my wall
You were everything I was looking for
But then you made my whole world fall

You smile into the camera
But your life is less than glamorous
I’ll stand in the back of the crowd
What a disaster you have become

I’d rather have the fantasy
And never even have known you
I wish I had never loved you
You’re not who I thought you were

I’d rather be dreaming
Of whatever my mind made out of you
I never would have imagined
You’re not who I thought you were

They’ve dreamt of you forever
They put your picture on their wall
You were everything they were looking for
But I know you’re nothing like that at all
