I Rather

Every day I asked this question:
Will love fade or will it grow?
As time passes will it stay the same
or will it melt away like the snow?

I can't help but to wonder about this.
I've been down this road before
I've been told "Baby, I love you."
but I've been hurt even more.

Promises are made to be broken.
That's how it seems to me
Why make promises of love and forever
When you know it's no guarantee.

Can't stand to be hurt again
Don't want to have to cry
I know if you stop loving me
I'll break down and want to die

My heart can't take any more torture...
I rahter hide beneath a rock
I rather throw away the key
And keep my heart on lock.

You simply are to risky
A leap of faith that I can't take
I rather pretend you don't exist
And drown my thoughts of you in the lake.
