Grief

Even tough you know
You never seem to stop.
I never see far
And this makes me think
That there are no real stars.
I need to reach
Reach up to you.
Though you’re never there
When I need you to.
Fussing all day
Screaming all night.
Even though you’re there.
I really don’t see YOU.
Now I’m sitting here
Shaking with fear
And this feeling
Won’t go away.
Shaking with fright
‘Cause I see you coming.
Now the time has come
For me to stand up and fight.
Shaking from this feeling
That I get everytime.
That you are here
And I need to just stop and get up.
Shaking from excitement
That this might be it
But as soon as I open my mouth
You just knock me down.
I do it again,
And you nock me down,
And my face stings,
For the second time.
I stand up and stay standing
This time you’re too shocked to understand,
That I’m swinging,
My fist in your direction.
It hits you,
And hits hard.
This is a good thing for me.
Now I’m free from your arms.
I run,
I run fast.
As I’m running,
It’s you I pass.
You see me,
And run with me too
We run so fast,
Until we knew you were through.
It’s over now.
You’re not here.
I’m and sound,
From your stinging whip.
