So the story begins of a tale never told
Of a boy who grew up but never grew old
He was a failure according to his father
Who never gave him a chance
And never took the time to bother
So he was forced into a defensive stance
A stance that degraded him
And made him feel grim
He used to be high on life
And was as sharp as a knife
But as the degrading set in and his dreams were bashed
All of his thoughts clashed
And so he held his head up high
Although it was all just a lie
He began to spend a lot of time thinking
About how much life was a waste
He sadly gained an interest in drinking
And lost all faith in the dreams he once chased
So now he just lies in bed
Wishing he were dead
