Washing Away the Blues*

Stepping out of the tub,
Just washed away all my blues.
Now that I'm all squeaky clean...
I can start love over anew.
For all the times you've done me wrong,
Times when you left me all alone.
The hurtful words you said to me,
Screaming to me over the phone.
In the tub I lay for a long bubble bath.
To help wash away all the pain,
Afterwards... making certain to throughly scrub the tub,
Don't want to leave any stains.
For stains would only be a reminder,
Of the disregard you had for me...
All the years of loving you...
Even a blind man could see.
Now that I feel fresh and new,
All clean from head to toe...
All powdered down with hope, completely dry.
Washed away all the pain in my heart,
Bidding you and the stains good-bye.
All squeaky clean with new hopes!
