I have finally made it to
Class now
I am the student
as well as the teacher
How sweet it was to remember
Being the wealthy businessman
unable to attain the happiness
inside of the long hours
Being the begger crackhead
unable to attain the happiness
inside of the pipe
Being the young sexpot
unable to attain the happiness
inside of the never-ending hunt and open legs
Being the perfect student
unable to attain the happiness
inside of the straight A's
Being the eleven year old african girl
unable to attain the happiness
inside of the pain of the rusted needle sewing her virginity together
Being the housewife
unable to attain the happiness
inside of the oven
Being the rapist
unable to attain the happiness
inside of the child
Being the widow
unable to attain the happiness
inside of the tears
Being the iraqi boy
unable to attain the happiness
inside of the starvation
Being the quarterback
unable to attain the happiness
inside of the touchdown
Being the famous actress
unable to attain the happiness
inside of the million-dollar bill
Being the jew
unable to attain the happiness
inside of the concentration camp
Being the incested child
unable to attain the happiness
inside of the violation
I never attained
"the Happiness"
through the feeling
or the deed
But through transmutating
the grudge into forgiveness
and thanking
myself and my Self
for the experience
Because inside of the business man
I Am the crackhead
inside of the whore
I Am the john
inside of the rapist
I Am the incested child
inside of the mutilated
I Am the doctor
mirroring all the many faces
of mySelf
Inside of the happiness
Inside of the hurt
I Am the Whole.

Wow... This is a powerful write! I could, of course, relate to the "student" passage - yeah, I'm the one with the A's who doesn't have time to enjoy it much. :-(
This one makes you think. Nice work! Blessings. |
