The Bully
~~~~
Don’t hate me cause I’m different
Don’t make fun of my name
Hearts weren’t made for breaking
And cruelty isn’t a game
Don’t stand me out in a crowd
Don’t laugh and point a finger
For the emotional scars that you build
Are painful and tend to linger
I’ve done nothing to ask for this
I’ve kept only to myself
You take away from my confidence
And from my mental health
I can’t hide in the shadows
I can’t disappear in the air
But facing you each day
Is something that I fear
So before you throw your stones
Try to understand
You’re not hurting just the boy
It’ll still affect him when he’s a man

My son is a special needs child who faces this daily. His strength amazes me. Thank you for sharing this.
