The Stoop on Noe Street

Contributed by Nardo on Thursday, 3rd February 2005 @ 11:18:56 PM in AEST
Topic: Nostalgic

The air feels of the days on the stoop.
Twilight whispers promises of peace.
Gentle,
Soothing
Peace.
Under the trees of Noe,
whose arms sheltered us from
hard winds and rain.
Under the night skies
of speckled stars.
I have a smile for those moments,
moments when time stopped,
age was nothing,
and to me,
the world around us vanished
in a quick toke of the pipe.
Pain and fear took flight
as Happiness sat besides me
talking of Friendship,
Family and Tranquility.
The City is as it should be,
lost in the romance of the 60's

Great poem! the title really stands out I glimpsed it out of the corner of my eye as I was about to enter a different poem but it looked so interesting I had to check it out. I'm glad I did.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
