Intimacy - Confines?

Intimacy, we share
It's sometimes seen askew
We are a happy pair
Till he sees this view
Intimate becomes confining
Of love, he fears to hear
Us, is too defining
My feelings for him too clear
His fear, it twists and turns
Hurting those in its path
For love, his heart yearns
His fear has but wrath
The love that he seeks
Is but a breath away
If to my heart he speaks,
All fear it will allay
I wish I could know
That he'd reply in kind
My heart he'd set aglow
From fear we'd unbind
He speaks to me
Hope rekindles
My heart, he sees
My doubts dwindle
I get too near
He runs away
It's me he fears
And will not stay
I cry and cry!
I wait and wait!
For another try!
If it's not too late!

This is beautiful although, I think the word fear is too repetitive, maybe you could use something else here instead... Other than that, it illustrates a true question I think we have all sought the answer to at one time. Well Done! |
