Alone in the empty harbour I sit,
My mind feeling like a bottomless pit,
I look around hoping to find,
Someone to love me, someone to be kind.
I think & I worry as I sit by myself,
It’s as if the worlds forgot & left me on a shelf,
Nobody to talk to with no-one do I speak,
It has been this way week after week.
Your heart becomes quite used to this way,
When nobody notices you day after day,
Mind has nothing to occupy its time,
So it lays idle & creates its own damaging rhyme.
This harbour is home to many a lost soul,
Who feel unloved & are the colour of coal,
They have no love & only know of the dark,
Onto their cores loneliness has made a mark.
The only ships that pass here of a night,
Are the ones of the ghosts that cling to you so tight,
As the mist rises & as the mist falls,
In this lonely harbour is where only the forgotten do call.

Ring...Ring..... pick up your phone!!!!. ... . i'm lonely too, but i'm managing... :) it is sad, but you make it seem worse.... i hope u feel better, keep yourself occupied.... i dunno... i guess it is as bad as it sounds, i should know..... your poem was deep and very well thought out. .. .. turning the phrase i'm lonely into a very well, example, so people could understand the actually feeling by at least a finger grip.... i like it... |

What can I say........full of depth and despair but elegant in its imagery.
Laying our ghosts to rest is never easy !!
Well written
