half past one

Contributed by bluebird on Thursday, 3rd February 2005 @ 04:37:30 AM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

contemplating suicide
Is another type of homicide
Baording deaths ride
To where the lost generation abide

God have mercy on my soul
Now tht the train has past the toll
As the engineer puts in more coal
I wonder why the train feels so cold

I boarded half past one
Only thing I remember was loading that gun
Than the light was done
And I was standing in front of that station

To think, I'm on board a train
A train headed toward pain
I thought that life was just a game
I guess I was wrong, and only I could blame

It seems like it is getting darker
As this train keeps moving farther
That annoyance - I hear laughter
From the next cab over

Could this laughter be my enemy
Maybe its just my mind punishing me
No cant be, I think I could see
It is -
Is my family, living life without me

I cant help, but shed a tear
From that living laughter I hear
Surely that laughter will dissappear
It is - gone to the dark air

When will this train come to its end
This small lamps light is growing thin
I wonder if what I did was a sin
Am I worthy to join the Heavenly Kin

I ponder in thought, as I listen to the train wheels hone
I feel as if I am on this journey alone
I don't even hear a single tone
Except for my occasional moan

Propose, there is no destination
Except where I started, at the station
What if this is eternal damnation
Could this train lead to the Heavenly Nation?

What a dark night this must be
While this train moves unceasingly
Surely it must be, I just cant see
Where this train is taking me.

nice job...good form, and rhyming. i like the way it went and all...how it is like never-ending. and i can really feel sadness and regret in it...plus like how you used the train to symbolize is all...good job
