To have a friend is to have a heart
They're even with you when your apart
When we are together everything is bright
I think of these times every night
I don't know what else to say
Except that together is where we'll stay.

You've got a good start here. My suggestion is that you expand on it and remove the "I don't know what to say." In some long poems poised at particular moments, it might be appropriate, but I don't think in a poem so short that it has the effect you want. Beautiful sentiments however.

Hiya melissa! I really like this poem, short and sweet, its cool. I hope its about me,lol.
Brilliant start for us to become a poetry duo, what do you say? Overall, emotion shows through your writing, which is hard to achieve, keep it up!
