life is so fickle that we seldom let love take hold,
we live in a dreary world that we consider safe,
we guard ourselves and seldom act bold,
on our own island protected by deep water we are the waif.
we hide in the jungle hoping not to be found,
when we see our ship come in to shore,
in the deep woods where we can not drown,
but, the pirates will find us and to them we amour.
wonderful times of love and lust ensue,
we let ourselves go and act completely free,
we knew it happen, of course there's a snafu,
it all ends in a divorce decree

LOL. I like your "pirates" metaphor! As for the jungle; yeah, but I'm taking sailing lessons. *grins* Seriously, you have a great metaphor and the poem blends it well.
Cheers! |
