Under the clear cold stars
Among the gray concrete
I walk to nowhere, it’s so far
Searching as the city sleeps
Secluded in a lonely world
Of coldness, my shadow and me
Watch as misty breath unfurls
As I shiver against the icy breeze
My hands in my pockets
Head down against the wind
Watching my shadow as I walk
My only real true friend
No one knows who I really am
And so I must pretend
And I’ll walk this concrete road
Until my very end
People look into my eyes as I smile
They say “you‘re such a mystery”
But if they saw me one lonely night
It wouldn’t be so hard to see
City lights twinkle in front of me
As I sit on a frosty rise
And finally
Behind the scenes
I take off my disguise
So I walk this concrete road
Breaking through the city smoke
And don’t forget the “mysterious” me
Gone forever as the city sleeps
