SUNRISE
By Katherine Faigen
Lingering with loss and love
Heartened by the waning night
Watching as the day arrives
Trembling with great delight
Waiting, as if day was you
Come to sweep me off my feet
With gold and bronze and copper hues
I hold out longing arms to greet
A hush, a rush, a sweeping song
And For a moment I am home
I find that I have never known
A wonder greater than the dawn.

I really liked this poem. You really achieved something here that i can't, and i feel like im repeating myself (not to u), but i cant describe things. I really admire it when people can do it so effectively, and thats what u did here. The sunrise was so vivid and welcoming, it was just a great write. |
